Nagarjuna-Posco alliance bags Rs 1558 cr project

This project would be the largest blast furnace in the country and would be based on technology of Posco.

MUMBAI: Nagarjuna Construction Company along with South Korea-based Posco E&C has bagged Rs 1,558 crore contract from Steel Authority of India Ltd for its IISCO Steel Plant at Burnpur in West Bengal.

Nagarjuna Construction's share of the order was around Rs 1,100 crore, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The project comprises setting up of a blast furnace complex to be completed over a period of 30 months. This project would be the largest blast furnace in the country and would be based on technology of Posco, the company added.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 240.85, up 10.36 per cent on Bombay Stock Exchange.
