N Mohapatra takes charge as Steel Authority of India Limited's Director (Personnel)

KOLKATA: N Mohapatra, has taken charge of the Director (Personnel) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). Prior to this he was, Executive Director (Personnel) at SAIL’s IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur and Bokaro Steel Plant, Bokaro.

Mohapatra who assumed charge on November 27, 2015, has a doctorate in history. He began his career at SAIL at the Bhilai Steel Plant, where he joined as a junior manager in 1980.

During his over-three decade long stint with the public sector steel major, he handled several key portfolios in the areas such as Personnel Management, Human Resource Development and Administration, before rising to the rank of executive director, an official statement said.

During his long tenure at SAIL he has made significant contributions in the areas of improvement of employee productivity as well as application of IT in HR function.
