JSW Steel reduces HR Coil price by Rs 500 per tonne

MUMBAI: Sajjan Jindal-owned JSW Steel on Saturday said it will reduce HR coil price by Rs 500 per tonne with immediate effect.
"As a responsible corporate, we feel the positive step the government has taken by reducing duties should result in direct benefit to the customer, who has been hard pressed by the recent inflationary trends," company's Director (Finance) Seshagiri Rao said in a statement here.
In order to tame inflation, the government had reduced customs duty on metallurgical coke, ferro alloys and zinc to nil from five per cent earlier.
In line with that, JSW Steel has reduced prices for galvanised by Rs 750 per tonne, the release said.
