JSW Steel Q2 crude steel production up 21%

MUMBAI: JSW Steel’s July-September production was the highest since its capacity enhancement to 3.8 million tonne per annum in November 2006.

Crude steel production grew 21 per cent in the second over the corresponding quarter of last year; HR Coils, HR Plates and pre-painted Galvanised coils grew at 13 per cent, 43 per cent and 106 per cent, respectively.

The hot strip mill produced 1.363 million tonne in the first six months of the current financial year showing a capacity utilization of 109 per cent.

Sequentially, the company also registered a volume growth 11 per cent in crude steel and 7 per cent in HR Coils.

JSW Steel shares today closed up 5.22 per cent at Rs 911.70 on BSE.
