Malhotra, who was serving as the CEO of the company since October 28 last year, has cited personal reasons for his resignation, which is effective from the close of business hours on July 15, 2026.
"I hereby submit my request to be relieved from the services of the company due to personal commitments. I sincerely appreciate the guidance and support extended by your goodself, the Board of Directors, my colleagues, and the entire Jindal Steel team," Malhotra said in the resignation letter available on the exchanges.
His resignation comes ahead of the meeting of the Board of Directors of Jindal Steel on July 24, 2026 to consider and approve the unaudited financial results of the company for the first quarter of FY27.
The company has not named the new CEO yet.
Jindal Steel is one of the leading steel making entities in the country.
