Jindal Steel and Power will achieve 6 mtpa capacity in Angul plant : Naveen Jindal

Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) would achieve the full capacity of 6 million ton per annum at its plant in Angul by 2016, company Managing Director Naveen Jindal said here today.

BHUBANESWAR: Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) would achieve the full capacity of 6 million ton per annum at its plant in Angul by 2016, company Managing Director Naveen Jindal said here today.

Jindal, who met Odisha Chief Secretary J K Mohapatra during the day, said JSPL would sign a memorandum of understanding with the Odisha government for its coal-to-liquid plant in Angul by the end of this year.

Earlier on August 8, JSPL had commissioned the steel melting shop and its allied unit at the Angul plant.

Commissioning of the unit is an important milestone in the Angul project. With it the company has achieved 2.5 MTPA steel production capacity in the first phase, a senior executive said.
