RANCHI: Seeking to assuage steel tycoon L N Mittal, who expressed "unhappiness" on the progress of his proposed Rs 40,000 crore project in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Arjun Munda on Friday said the plant was well on track and he was personally looking into it.

The chief minister told media on the eve of his personal trip to the US that the government was keen to see the MoU, signed with L N Mittal last October, turn into reality.

Munda is also likely to visit London to hold discussions with Mittal on expediting the project.

Munda, who is going to the US to get medical treatment for his sons, said he would also utilise the trip to seek investment for his state and talk to non-resident Indians in this regard.

Mittal, who visited India last week, announced plans to invest in Orissa apparently peeved by the slow progress of his project in Jharkhand.
