Finnish steelmaker to showcase its products at Vibrant India event
The product is not contaminated by stainless steel, and consequently no flavours or discolouration is imparted to the food and drink.
"Outokumpu will exhibit its new 2R2 surface finishes in stainless steel with smooth finish, hygiene, strength and formability essential for food, drink and catering sectors. The 2R2 stainless steel can be used for storage tanks, syrup and milk tanks, kitchen ware, utensils, pots and pans, water boilers and other catering equipment,” Yatinder Pal Singh Suri, Managing Director, Outokumpu India said.
Stainless steel is now the preferred material for home ware, catering, home appliances, modern building and architecture due to its high mechanical strength, resistance to corrosion, aesthetics and cost efficiency. "It performs well in extreme climate conditions and needs little maintenance,”Suri added.
"The widespread use of stainless steel in the food and drink, catering and kitchenware industry reflects the fact that stainless steel resists corrosion by most food and beverages. The product is not contaminated by stainless steel, and consequently no flavours or discolouration is imparted to the food and drink. In addition, stainless steel is readily cleaned, providing hygiene in food processing and handling. Stainless steel is also strong and can be formed into necessary shapes for food processing, handling and storage,” Suri said.
Outokumpu will also be showcasing new high-chromium ferritic stainless steel grade 1.4622 with improved corrosion resistance, strength, and formability. The ferritic 4622 grade is suitable for demanding architectural applications.
