ET Ferro Alloy: The Path Ahead for Cronimet Alloys

The name of GMR Ferro Alloys & Industries Ltd has been changed to Cronimet Alloys India Ltd (CAIL). During 2009-10, CAIL achieved a sales turnover of ` 1152.30 million with exports contributing 34% of production.

CAIL envisages to add two 12 MVA sub-merged electric arc furnaces in Tekkali to produce Ferro Silicon. The project is to be completed by end 2012. CAIL has also embarked on an expansion plan and has envisaged setting up a high Carbon Ferro Chrome (HCFC) plant in Cuttack District, Orissa in two phases.
