Durgapur Steel CEO gets additional charge as IISCO CEO

KOLKATA: Prakash Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer of Durgapur Steel Plant took over additional charge of CEO of IISCO Steel Plant on July 1, 2015 in addition to his existing responsibility.

An engineering graduate from IIT,Roorkee, Singh joined SAIL in 1980 at Bokaro Steel Plant and began his career at the Blast furnace Dept. Since 1989, he has served at Burnpur as a part of the Core Group formed for prospective modernization of IISCO, Burnpur. In 2001 he was transferred to Durgapur as DGM where he stuck to Blast Furnace department.

In 2008, Singh was back at Burnpur as General Manager(Iron). Next year he was transferred to Bokaro but only to come back to Burnpur for his third stint in May 2011 on promotion as ED(Works). After a brief stint as ED (Works) at Bokaro Steel Limited and Durgapur Steel Plant he took over as CEO of DSP on May 1, 2012 and has been at the helm of affairs at DSP for the last three years.
