RANCHI: An Arcelor-Mittal team, including the steel major's technical officer Alan Bordet, is scheduled to visit the Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) here tomorrow, brightening business prospects of the public sector.

Besides Bordet, the team would comprise Arcelor-Mittal's India head and CEO Sanak Mishra and its General Manager (Mines) H S Prasad, sources in the HEC said.

The senior officials of the steel giant, which has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Jharkhand government for a greenfield steel plant in 2005, would visit the HEC's foundry and forge plant, heavy machine building plant and heavy machine tool plant.

The HEC, which is getting orders from various public sectors including the Steel Authority of India Limited, is looking for offers from big private investors as well, a senior official in the HEC told PTI.

He, however, refused to throw any light on the Arcelor-Mittal visit when asked whether the HEC expected any offer from the Arcellor-Mittal.

HEC had recently got a revival package of Rs 806 crore from the Jharkhand government.
