AP CM was to inaugurate SBQ steel plant

CHENNAI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was to inaugurate the first phase of the integrated steel plant of SBQ steels, part of RKKR group, at Gudur on Wednesday.

Originally, the inauguration was scheduled at 11 am. Then the organisers were told to keep it at 12 noon as the CM would come by a chopper from Kurnool to Chittoor for attending the wedding in the family of an MLA at Chittoor between 11. 15 and 11 45 am. It would take 15 minitues to fly from there to Gudur.

The organisers had made it a big affair as the CM was coming to launch a major industrial project. Besides former AP CM, Janardana Reddy, senior officials, party leaders present at the function, more than 5000 party workers had gathered outside the steel plant to see the CM and listen to his address on the occasion. It came as a big shock to them when they heard the CM was not coming as his chopper was missing.
