ROURKELA: The anti-POSCO agitators ended a three-day cycle rally of tribals here airing their determination not to allow entry of the South Korean steel giant in Sundergarh district.
"We will ban entry of POSCO to Sundergarh. We will pay all price to save the Khandadhar hills," said the agitators, who concluded their rally from Khandadhar to a rousing reception in the steel city last night.
The people have been agitating against the state government's proposed move to hand over the Khandadhar forest hills to POSCO for mining activities to establish its mega steel plant in coastal Orissa.
The protesters under the banner of 'Khandadhar Surakhya Samiti' alleged that POSCO would destroy the deep forest and leave the local population unemployed which depended on the forest.
