TCG refuses comment on HC order over HPL

A Calcutta High Court order set aside a Company Law Board (CLB) order that had allowed transfer Haldia Petrochemicals Limited's shares in TCG's favour.

KOLKATA: The Chatterjee Group (TCG), one of the promoters of Haldia Petrochemicals Limited (HPL), on Friday refused to comment on a Calcutta High Court order which set aside a Company Law Board (CLB) order that had allowed transfer of the company's shares in its favour.

Aniruddha Lahiri, head of TCG's operations in India, told reporters: "We will not comment on the issue, unless we get the certified copy of the order."

"After studying the order, we will then take a view," Lahiri said.

While passing the order, Justice Jayanta Biswas said that the certified copy of the order would be provided in two days to all the parties concerned.

Reacting to the order, Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee said, "We have won the case. This much I know."

West Bengal Industries Minister Nirupam Sen said "I am happy with the verdict."
