NRL commissions Naptha Splitter
Numaligarh Refinery Ltd commissioned its Naphtha Splitter set up to facilitate supply of petrochemical grade naphtha to Assam Gas Cracker Project.
Executed at a project cost of Rs. 87 crores, the Naphtha Splitter Project funded entirely from internal sources will supply 1.60 lakh tonnes of petrochemical grade naphtha annually to the project which is being implemented by Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Ltd (BCPL) at Lepetkata near Dibrugarh, a press release said.
The Unit will convert the Naphtha generated in the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) and Hydrocracker Unit(HCU) of the Refinery and convert it into paraffin rich Naphtha, suitable to be used as feedstock in Naphtha Cracker unit of the Gas Cracker Project.
The unit was formally inaugurated by NRL Managing Director Dipak Chakravarty and was also attended by Director ( Finance) S K Barua and seniors officials.
