MRPL renews 3-yr fuel supply pact with Mauritius

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd on Thursday renewed a deal with Mauritius to supply fuel to the island nation for three years starting from August, the Indian company said in a statement on Wednesday.

NEW DELHI: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd on Thursday renewed a deal with Mauritius to supply fuel to the island nation for three years starting from August, the Indian company said in a statement on Wednesday.

MRPL and State Trading Corp of Mauritius signed the product supply deal on Thursday. The Indian refiner would annually supply 1.1 million tonnes of refined products, it said. The $660-million-a-year deal includes supply of gas oil, jet fuel, gasoline and fuel oil to Mauritius.

MRPL runs a 236,400 barrels per day (bpd) refinery in the southern Indian state of Karnataka.
