BPCL signs MoU with IGL for marketing of lubricants

Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) has signed an agreement to market its lubricants at CNG stations of Indraprastha Gas Ltd.

NEW DELHI: Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd ( BPCL) has signed an agreement to market its lubricants at CNG stations of Indraprastha Gas Ltd.

BPCL entered into a memorandum of understanding with IGL for selling its lubricants at IGL Gas Stations across Delhi and adjoining towns, the company said in a statement here.

Presently, IGL has a network of 115 CNG Stations across Delhi/NCR and lakhs of customers visit these outlets every day.

"With this network base, we have great opportunity to market lubricants, notably MAK GE, a premium CNG engine oil and coolants at these outlets," it said.

As per a study, market potential of gas engine oil is over 3,200 tons per year in Delhi/NCR.

"This new channel of marketing of lubricants will help us penetrating horizontally on wide reach of selling points of MAK Lubricants and will simultaneously also help in leveraging brand visibility across Delhi/NCR in CNG segment," it said.

The agreement is initially valid for a period of 5 years. BPCL is looking at sale of 100 tonnes of lubricants through IGL network in 2014-15.
