Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Q1 PAT up 66% at Rs 26 cr

MUMBAI: Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren Ltd on Monday posted a 66.45 per cent increase in profit after tax of Rs 26.3 crore for the quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 15.8 crore for the same quarter in 2005-06.

The total income (net of excise) increased 63.20 per cent to Rs 536.3 crore for the quarter ended June 30, from Rs 328.6 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Welspun-Gujarat Stahl Rohren Limited (WGSRL), a part of the Welspun conglomerate, caters to the global requirement of submerged arc-welded (SAW) pipes, both spiral and longitudinal.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 66.45, up 11.59 per cent at the BSE.
