Plastindia 2009 launched: The future is here!
Plastindia 2009, will be held from 4th to 9th February 2009 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Bhavarlal Jain, (Chairman, Jain Group of Industries) on Friday 18th Jan 2008, formally launched PLASTINDIA (PI) 2009, the 7th International Plastics Exhibition and Conference, one of world’s largest exhibitions on plastics, attended by over 550 dignitaries. B. P. Pandey (Joint Secretary, Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India), was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.
Also present on the occasion were Arvind Mehta, President, Plastindia Foundation; Nikhil Meswani, Chairman, National Advisory Board (PI 2009); Mahendra Patel, Chairman, National Executive Council (PI 2009); Amar Seth, Vice President, Plastindia Foundation and Hasmukh Patel, Hon. Treasurer, Plastindia Foundation.
In his welcome address, Arvind Mehta, said ‘One of the key goals of the Foundation is to facilitate export led growth of the Indian Plastic Industry with a view to double the plastic processing capacity and consumption by 2010. Plastindia Foundation would remain focused on exhibitions & conferences as the main platform for bringing together domestic as well as global business in the Plastics Industry, thereby projecting and promoting the capabilities of Indian Plastic Industry.’
In his keynote address, Nikhil Meswani, said ‘The Indian Plastics Industry has moved from simple processing to manufacturing of specialty and high performance products. The Indian Industry has the capability to become an export hub for articles of plastics. This is a tribute to the indomitable spirit of India’s entrepreneurs.’
Elaborating this view, Mahendra Patel, said, ‘Plastindia 2009 will showcase innovations, opportunities and much more under one roof.’
‘Plastindia 2009 will probably surpass the splendor and achievements of its previous version’ said Bhavarlal Jain, (Chairman, Jain Group of Industries), the industrialist who pioneered drip water irrigation revolution in India, speaking on the occasion. ‘I commend the initiatives of Plastindia Foundation, in positioning the Indian Plastics Industry favourably to the world, while compelling the world to have a closer look at the Indian plastics market.’ he added.
Plastindia Foundation will concurrently host Proplast 2009 and an International Conference as part of Plastindia 2009, bringing together, under one roof, major global and Indian Plastics Industry innovators. The exhibition and conference will reveal cutting edge technological developments, equipments and products.
