Jindal Saw posts 90% rise in net profit

Jindal Saw Ltd (JSL), which is a part of the $8 billion Jindal Group, on Saturday said it has posted 90% net profit to Rs 90 crore in the second quarter this year against the corresponding quarter last year.

NEW DELHI: Jindal Saw Ltd (JSL), which is a part of the $8 billion Jindal Group, on Saturday said it has posted 90% net profit to Rs 90 crore in the second quarter this year against the corresponding quarter last year.

The company’s gross turnover increased by about 25.7% to Rs 1,470 crore from Rs 1,170 crore in the corresponding quarter last year while its Profit After Tax soared to Rs 90 crore from Rs 48 crore in the same quarter last year, according to a company release here.

Its operating profit increased by about 45% to Rs 170 crore from Rs 117 crore, it said. “The higher profitability has been achieved by the company as a result of improved productivity and bringing more efficiency in the operations in its various business segments including saw pipes, steel plates and seamless pipes, it added.
