Budget 2024: FM Sitharaman proposes to increase custom duty on PVC to 25%

India Budget: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced on Tuesday an increase in basic custom duty (BCD) on PVC flex banners from 10 percent to 25 percent. The change aims to address environmental and health concerns.

Union Budget: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday increased basic custom duty (BCD) on PVC flex banners to 25 per cent from 10 per cent.

While announcing the Budget, she said, "PVC flex banners are non-biodegradable and hazardous for environment and health. To curb their imports, I propose to raise the BCD on them from 10 per cent to 25 per cent."
