Western coalfields signs MoU for operational transperency

Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has signed a MoU with global anti-corruption watchdog, Transparency International India (TII) to ensure transperent, fair and corruption free transactions in public contracting and procurement.

NAGPUR: The mini ratna public sector undertaking, Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with global anti-corruption watchdog, Transparency International India (TII) to ensure transperent, fair and corruption free transactions in public contracting and procurement.

The MoU was signed by Chairman cum Managing Director of WCL, D C Garg and Chairman of TII R H Tahiliani at TII headquarters in New Delhi earlier this week .

WCL Directors (Finance) Irawati Dani, (Personnel) O P Miglani along with Chief General Manager P K Sharma, General Manager C M Shukla and Aramudhan were present on the occasion, a release issued here stated.

The MoU makes it mandatory on part of WCL and contracting parties to abide by an integrity pact developed by TII to be fair and transparent in dealings to ensure corruption free business.

The signing of MoU is a major step towards WCL's commitment to foster ethical and corruption free environment, the release added.
