Topworth Urja wins Marki Mangli-I coal block in Maharashtra

NEW DELHI: Topworth Urja and Metals has won the Marki Mangli-I coal block in Maharashtra with a bid of Rs 715 per tonne. The block, which has extractable reserves of about 10 million tones, was also being eyed by Grace Industries and Lloyd Urja.

It was earlier owned by B S Ispat. The third round of coal auction comprising five coal blocks for unregulated sectors such as steel and cement started on August 11.

Bidding for another coal block, Bhaskarapara in Chhattisgarh, was on at Rs 685 per tonne at around 5 pm. Jindal Steel & Power, Crest Steel and Power and Godavari Natural are bidding for the block.
