Tata Steel may review prices for Q1 of 2010-11 in February
Tata Steel on Friday said it will take a call to review prices for the first quarter of next fiscal in February.
"We have revised prices in December-January period and now it looks prices are okay for this quarter. For next quarter, we will review in February," Tata Steel Managing Director H M Nerurkar said.
The company had increased the price of its flat products, which account for 65 per cent of the total production, by Rs 2,000 per tonne.
When asked about demand in the fourth quarter, Nerurkar said it seems to be similar to that in the previous quarter as the GDP growth projection remains strong.
Sales in the October-December quarter surged 49 per cent to 1.5 million tonnes driven by robust demand from sectors like automobiles and consumer durables.
The company sold 1.07 million tonnes of steel in the third quarter of the last financial year.
