Singareni signs pact with Karnataka Power Corporation to supply 81L tons of coal

HYDERABAD: Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) has entered into an agreement with the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) on Monday for supply of 81 lakh tons coal this financial year, informed a company spokesperson.

Under the agreement, SCCL will supply 30 lakh tons of coal to Raichur Thermal Power Station and 20 lakh tons to Yerramarru Thermal Power Station while the rest 31 lakh tons of coal to Bellary Thermal Power Station. Last year, SCCL supplied 70 lakh tonnes of coal to KPCL for its three power stations.

The miner has been supplying coal to KPCL for about 27 years. The agreement was signed N. Sridhar, chairman and managing director, SCCL and Kumar Naik, managing director, KPCL.
