Sharp fall in nickel prices

Nickel prices declined sharply on the non-ferrous metal market here on Monday on lack of industrial demand coupled with lower LME advices.

MUMBAI: Nickel prices declined sharply on the non-ferrous metal market here on Monday on lack of industrial demand coupled with lower LME advices.

Elsewhere, copper and brass also moved down due to lack of industrial support.

Nickel dropped by Rs 35 per kilo to Rs 1500 from Rs 1535 previously. Copper cable scrap, copper armature, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar and brass sheets cutting moved down by Rs 2 per kilo each to Rs 358, Rs 346, Rs 319, Rs 387 and Rs 272 respectively.

Elsewhere, copper scrap heavy and copper sheets cutting both eased by a rupee per kilo to Rs 352 and Rs 343 respectively.

However, brass utensils scrap moved up by Rs 2 per kilo to Rs 257 from Rs 255 previously.
