Sesa Goa rejects speculations China banning low grade ore
Downplaying the apprehensions of China banning low quality iron ore, Vedanta Resources group firm, Sesa Goa today said that they have not come across any notification speaking of restrain or ban.
"We have not come across any such notification (by China) despite the fact that we have our office in China," Sesa Goa's managing director PK Mukherjee told reporters in Panaji.
He said that whatever that is being spoken is just a news and there is no concrete notification received by them.
"There are various news emerging about China. There was news that they were not buying ore from three major exporters," he said.
"If they ban three major exporters and also restrict or ban low grade ore than how does it reconcile? How will their steel industry survive?," he questioned.
Goa's mining industry is reeling under acute tension after reports claiming that China intends to ban low grade ore.
Mukherjee said that `so far, Sesa's business has not been impacted with China's reported ban'.
