Royalty rates on 4 key minerals rationalised

​​The royalty rates for caesium and rubidium have been set at 2% of the average sale price (ASP), applicable to the metal contained in the produced ore. For zirconium, the royalty rate has been fixed at 1%.

New Delhi: The Union cabinet on Wednesday rationalised the royalty rates of graphite, caesium, rubidium and zirconium. It issued a statement saying these are important minerals for high-tech applications and energy transition.

The royalty rates for caesium and rubidium have been set at 2% of the average sale price (ASP), applicable to the metal contained in the produced ore. For zirconium, the royalty rate has been fixed at 1%.

For graphite, with 80% or more fixed carbon, royalty will now be 2% of ASP on ad valorem basis. For graphite with less than 80% fixed carbon, 4% of ASP on ad valorem basis will be charged as royalty.
