RINL, NMDC ink pact for pipeline, plant

NMDC and RINL have inked a pact for a Rs 2,200-crore project, which includes installing a 336-km slurry pipeline from Jagdalpur to Visakhapatnam and a 4-mtpa pellet plant.

KOLKATA: NMDC and RINL have inked a pact for a Rs 2,200-crore project, which includes installing a 336-km slurry pipeline from Jagdalpur to Visakhapatnam and a 4-mtpa pellet plant in Visakhapatnam.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by NK Nanda, chairman and managing director in-charge of NMDC and AP Choudhary, CMD, RINL. The teaming up of RINL and NMDC is significant since the latter needs to market and clear the fines from mine site and RINL needs raw material linkages for meeting its growth plans.

Steel secretary DRS Chaudharysaid the pellet plant is a step in right direction.
