Ore Bedding and Blending Plant of Rourkela Steel Plant creates record

ROURKELA: The Ore Bedding and Blending Plant (OBBP) of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has created a record in single day wagon unloading clicking 448 wagons, 13 more than its previous mark. The record was achieved on January 22 breaking its previous feat which was created on November 27, 2013, RSP sources said today.

The OBBP-collective notched up the highest ever figures by unloading a total of 448 wagons compared to the previous best of 435 wagons. It is noteworthy that the Raw Material Handling Facility has been augmented as a part of the massive modernisation and expansion being implemented at the RSP.

Post expansion, the unit has now a capacity of 12 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). Besides, meticulous planning, dedicated efforts of the collective and the outstanding housekeeping activities contributed in achieving this feat, they said.
