Om Metals Infraprojects bags Rs 54 crore project in Nepal
Om Metals Infraprojects today said it has bagged a contract worth Rs 54 crore from the Nepal government for carrying out hydro mechanical works.
The company has bagged the contract from the Ministry of Water Resources, Department of Irrigation of Nepal government for design, supply, fabrication, erection and commissioning of hydromechanical works of headworks on Sikta irrigation project, a statement issued here said.
"This is our first order in the irrigation segment overseas, following our first hydromechanical contract in Africa," company's Director, Business Development, Vikas Kothari said.
The project, with a cultivable command area of 33,766 hectare including the rehabilitation of Dunduwa irrigation system, constructed by Indian Cooperation Mission in 1964, would irrigate almost all the low lands of the Banke district and its economic impact could be significant for this development region, he said.
The project is expected to be completed by June 2015, the release said.
With this, the order book of the company now stands at Rs 800 crore.
