NTPC Bongaigaon achieved milestone with commercial pond ash evacuation

NTPC Bongaigaon commenced its commercial pond ash evacuation which is a milestone moment and first of its kind for the power station.

The trail pond ash evacuation was earlier successfully done in December, 2022. The station auctioned 3 lakh metric tons of pond ash through M/s MSTC. The offered quantity was fully auctioned at a price of Rs.64-68.00 PMT in February 2023 for a period of one year.

Pond ash evacuation has been a long challenging target for the station. Karunakar Das, CGM, NTPC Bongaigaon, and the environment monitoring group took great interest to achieve this target from its inception.


Safety pep talk on bulk material handling and road safety was administered to the pond ash lifters before start of evacuation.
