NPCIL looks toward uranium from Heavy Water Board
The cost of heavy water had come down by 20% in spite of very high quality and purity, said Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) chairman and managing director SK Jain.
"Due to energy conservation, upgrade of capacity and saving in chemicals, the cost of heavy water produced by the Heavy Water Board has come down by 20% in the last few years and NPCIL could have a surplus of Rs 11,000 crore just on that account," Mr Jain said while speaking at the 'Heavy Water Day' here.
"Now NPCIL is hungry for uranium and we expect nuclear grade uranium from the Heavy Water Board soon," he added.
