NMDC produces 148.06 lakh tonnes iron ore till October

New Delhi: State-owned miner NMDC today said it produced 148.06 lakh tonnes iron ore and sold 160.66 lakh tonnes of the steel-making raw material till October of the current fiscal.

In a BSE filing, the company said it has "...achieved production and despatches of iron ore of 148.06 lakh tonnes and 160.66 lakh tonnes respectively (Provisional) upto October 2013."

The largest iron ore miner of the country also said it rolled over the October price for the month of November as well.

The price of lumps or high-grade iron ore in November, thus, stands at Rs 4,300 per tonne while the low-grade fines cost Rs 2,610 a tonne.
