Neyveli Lignite Corp pays Rs 271.79-crore final dividend to government

NEW DELHI: The Neyveli Lignite Corporation ( NLC) has paid the government the final dividend of Rs 271.79 crore for 2013-14.

A cheque to this amount was today handed over to Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Power, Coal & New and Renewable Energy by the Chairman and Managing Director of NLC. B Sunder Mohan here today, according an official statement.

Coal Secretary S K Srivastava and Joint Secretary Coal, A K Bhalla were present on the occasion, it said.

"The shareholders of NLC Limited at the 58th Annual General Meeting held on 24th September 2014 have declared a final dividend at the rate of 18 per cent for the financial year 2013-14 in addition to 10 per cent of Interim Dividend paid during March 2014, aggregating to a total dividend of 28 per cent ( including distribution tax) for the year 2013-14 amounts to Rs 549.59 crore," it said.

"Taking into account the Interim Dividend of Rs 150.99 crore paid during March 2014, the total dividend paid to Government of India for the year 2013-14 was Rs.422.78 crore," it added.
