Nalco net jumps 52% to Rs 2,381cr in ’06-07

NEW DELHI: Rising on strong metal prices in global markets, National Aluminium Company (NALCO), one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of alumina and aluminium has reported a 52.4% jump in net profit to Rs 2,380.7 crore during 2006-07 against Rs1,562.2 crore achieved in the previous year. The company’s unaudited financial results were taken on record by the board in a meeting held in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. Nalco declared it had achieved highest-ever turnover of Rs 6,516.8 crore in 2006-07, recording an increase of 22.4% over the previous year’s figure of Rs 5,324.2 crore.
