MSPL resumes operations of Vyasanakere mine after 38 months
The 347.22 hectare VIOM near here has an annual production sanction of 0.91 million tonnes.
It had stopped mining operations since January 2009, due to the ban on iron ore mining.

The resumption of mining with immediate effect follows "several orders" from the Supreme Court and after satisfactory completion of Reclamation and Rehabilitation (R&R) works prescribed by the Monitoring Committee, the iron ore company said in a release.
MSPL Chairman and Managing Director Narendrakumar A Baldota, said: "...we have been doing systematic and scientific mining and will continue do the same with a high concern on environment and safety".
