MMTC to seek shareholders' nod for JV investment

State-run minerals and metals trading firm MMTC said on Thursday that it will seek shareholders' approval to invest Rs 2.60 crore in a joint venture with Tata Steel.

MUMBAI: State-run minerals and metals trading firm MMTC said on Thursday that it will seek shareholders' approval to invest Rs 2.60 crore in a joint venture company being created with Tata Steel.

The company plans to invest Rs 2.60 crore for acquiring equity shares of the joint venture firm.

In a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, MMTC said the last date for receiving postal ballot forms would be August 8. The ballot results would be announced on September 1.

Shares of the company closed at Rs 18,277.25, down 2.36 per cent on the BSE.
