Larsen & Toubro (L&T)'s Minerals & Metals vertical has secured an ECP contract from Hindustan Zinc for its Debari Smelter Complex in Rajasthan.

The company has categorised the order under 'large' category, implying the order value between Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 5,000 crore.

Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company, is establishing a 250 KTPA Leaching, Purification & Cellhouse facility, along with a 125 KTPA Jarosite Circuit at its Debari Smelter Complex in Rajasthan.


The planned facility is said to produce Special High Grade Zinc Cathodes.

The project includes design and engineering, procurement, complete site services including installation and commissioning of Calcine Storage, Leaching, Purification, and Electrowinning (Jumbo Cell House) plant, as stated by the company.

The scope of the project awarded to L&T's Minerals & Metals business vertical also includes associated auxiliaries such as utilities, ETP RO-ZLD, plant electrics, instrumentation, and automation systems.

Shares of Larsen & Tourbo Ltd. were trading at Rs. 3,600 per unit as on 13:48 PM on Friday after declining by Rs. 35.65 on BSE.
