Sponge iron maker Jai Balaji Industries on Saturday said it has been allocated Ardhagram coal block in ECL area for joint mining with Sova Ispat.

MUMBAI: Sponge iron maker Jai Balaji Industries on Saturday said it has been allocated Ardhagram coal block in ECL area for joint mining with Sova Ispat.

The Ministry of Coal allocated joint coal mining block vide its official letter dated December 6, 2007, the Kolkata- based company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company's share consists of 4 million tonnes of coal out of the total 25.6 million tonne, it added.

Jai Balaji has also set up a MS Ingot manufacturing unit with an installed capacity of 78,720 metric tonnes per annum.

The scrip of the company slipped 4.96 per cent to Rs 487.95 at the close of Friday's trading with over 17,000 shares changing hands on the BSE.
