Industry told to bunch up carbon credit projects

The government has asked the industry, including PSUs, to bunch up their projects for reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, which can be traded in the $10-billion global carbon credit market.

NEW DELHI: The government has asked the industry, including PSUs, to bunch up their projects for reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, which can be traded in the $10-billion global carbon credit market.

Secretary in the ministry of forests and environment Meena Gupta convened a meeting last week of the industry bodies, including CII, Ficci and Assocham, along with representatives of PSUs, and reviewed the progress in the clean development mechanism projects.
