New Delhi: The Indian Bureau of Mines, under the mines ministry, has invited applications from companies to register for setting up a mineral exchange under the Mineral Exchange Rules, 2026. The last date to submit applications is November 2.

The move follows the Mineral Exchange Rules, 2026 notified in June for administering mineral exchanges and market participants. The government aims to promote development of the market, including trading of minerals, through mineral exchanges under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.

The objective behind inviting applications is to identify a suitable entity capable of establishing and operationalising a robust, transparent and technology-enabled mineral exchange, the notice said.
