Hindustan Zinc hikes zinc, lead prices
Leading metal producer Hindustan Zinc has hiked the prices of zinc and lead by Rs 1,400 a tonne and Rs 1,700 a tonne, respectively.
Zinc would now cost Rs 90,300 a tonne while lead would be available at Rs 99,000 a tonne, a company circular said here today.
The price revision is effective from today, it added. Zinc is used for producing galvanised steel, alloys, while lead is used in batteries, rubber and paint industries.
Shares of Hindustan Zinc today closed at Rs 480.50, down 2.26 per cent on the BSE.
