HC stays CBI court order against NLC chief

The Madras High Court on Friday stayed a CBI court order directing the agency to register and investigate a misappropriation complaint.

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court on Friday stayed a CBI court order directing the agency to register and investigate a misappropriation complaint against Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd CMD A R Ansari.

Justice C T Selvam passed the order on a petition by Ansari challenging the July 4 order of the special court here.

CBI Judge Yusuf Ali had issued the directive on a private complaint filed by M Selvaraj of the NLC Workers Solidarity Union which alleged fudging and misappropriation of NLC funds to the tune of Rs 10,000 crore.
