Govt taking steps for fast clearances to coal blocks: Piyush Goyal

NEW DELHI: The government has taken measures to ensure quick clearances to coal blocks allotted through auctioning, Power and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal said on Thursday.

The vesting and allotment order issued to all successful bidders and allottees provides statutory approval of the mining plan, mine closure plan and prior approval of the Central government to grant mining lease, he said in a written reply to queries in the Lok Sabha.

The coal ministry has started an online monitoring portal, Electronic Coal Projects Monitoring Portal (e-CPMP), to fast track development at the mines, he said.
