Gare Palma block IV 7 receives highest number of 16 bids in auctions

KOLKATA: The Gare Palma block IV 7 has received the highest number of 16 bids in the auctions for Schedule II coal mines. Located in Chhattisgarh, the block was earlier allotted to Sarda Energy & Minerals. Next in line were Gare Palma IV 4, Bicharpur in Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand’s Tokisud North blocks, which received 12 bids each. While Gare Palma IV/4 was previously allotted to Jayaswal Neco, Bicharpur was earlier given to Madhya Pradesh State Mining Corporation and Tokisud North was previously allocated to GVK Power while Corporation. Following this were the blocks Gare Palma IV 1, Gare Palma IV 2 & 3, Amelia North and Chotia which received 11 bids each. The government received a total of 176 preliminary bids on Tuesday.

The list of bidders for these 23 coal blocks on offer in the first tranche of the ongoing auction is believed to include Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL), Adani Power Bharat Aluminium Company (Balco), Hindalco Industries, India Metals and Ferro Alloys (IMFA), Monnet Ispat and Energy, Sesa Sterlite and UltraTech Cement, , Rungta Mines and Sarda Energy and Minerals.

The blocks put on offer include Ardhagram, Belgaon, Bicharpur, Chotia, Gare-Palma-IV/1, Gare-Palma-IV/4, Gare-Palma-IV/5, Gare-Palma-IV/7,Gotitoria (East) & (West), Kathautia, Mandla North, Marki Mangli-I, Marki Mangli-III, Parbatpur Central, Sial Ghoghri, Amelia (North), Gare-Palma-IV/2 & IV/3, Sarisatolli, Talabira-I, Tokisud North and Trans Damodar.
