State-owned Coal India Ltd and Damodar Valley Corporation have teamed up to set up a 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Jharkhand with an investment of ₹16,500 crore. The project is an expansion of the existing 500 MW Chandrapura Thermal Power Station. A MoU was signed between the companies to for an equal shareholding joint venture.
