The new status would enable the CCL to have more working autonomy, CCL's Chariman-cum-Managing Director R P Ritolia said.

The CCL board would now be empowered to sanction upto Rs 300 crore for the purpose of capital expenditure in new projects, modernisation of projects and purchase of equipment.
