Another mining mishap in Meghalaya, 2 dead

GUWAHATI: In another instance of illegal rat hole mining in Meghalaya two miners were killed in East Jaintia hills.

This has come at time when a multi agency rescue team is making efforts to rescue 15 miners trapped trapped inside a mine since December 13.

An official in state government said that fresh incident of mine collapse has come from Mookar, Jalyiah village. One of relatives of the deceased has filed an FIR.


Two death is identified as Monoj Basumatry and Elad Bareh. “ we are trying to trace the owner of the mine, “ an official said.
