Adhunik begins commercial operation of power plant unit in Jharkhand

Adhunik Metaliks said it has commenced commercial operation of its 270 MW second unit of coal-based thermal power plant in Jharkhand.

NEW DELHI: AdhunikMetaliks on Tuesday said it has commenced commercial operation of its 270 MW second unit of coal-based thermal power plant in Jharkhand.


"Adhunik Power & Natural Resources (APNRL) has declared commercial operation of its second unit of 270 MW of 2x270 Thermal Power Plant on May 19," the Kolkata-based company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange ( BSE).

APNRL is a stepdown subsidiary of Adhunik Metals, which is setting up 540 MW coal-based thermal power plant comprising two units at village Padampur in Saraikela-Kharsawan in Jharkhand in first stage.

The commercial operation of the first unit commenced on January 21 this year, the company said.

"The main plant equipment Boiler Turbine Generator ( BTG) for the project are supplied by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd and balance of plant packages are sourced from manufactures of repute in India and abroad," the company said.

The shares of the company closed at Rs 27.50 a scrip, down 2.31 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
